Foundation Courses

Throughout the year we run 4, 6 or 8 week Foundation courses where beginners can learn the basics of Iyengar yoga in a systematic way, with a steady group and teacher. These courses are also good for existing students who want to revisit the foundations, or returning after a break.

These courses introduce foundational standing poses, seated poses and shoulderstand (the first of the inversions). Depending on the course length, additional standing and seated poses, foundational twists, and preliminary backbends may be introduced. Headstand preparation may also be included, depending on student readiness.

The next Foundation course starts on:
>> Thursday 1 August: 10-11.15am. This is an 8 Week course, teacher Tracey Kessler. Cost: $176. Book here.
